Loews Chicago Bedroom 1

Date: Thursday 16th April, 2015

Staying in Chicago for one night as a layover on the way to Dallas – I quickly decided to stay at the Loews O'Hare Chicago Hotel. I've stayed here before and knew what was expected.

As I held the American Express Platinum Charge Card – it provided $200 Travel credit to whatever travel expense you wanted. As the room was $269 – I used the $200 credit – so only paid $69.

Loews O'Hare hotel used to be the Intercontinental hotel. It is only a few years old – the newest hotel in the O'Hare/Rosemont area near the airport.

So Sofitel Singapore Room 6

Date: 14th April, 2015
Nights: 1
Room: Heritage room – I was told that I was upgraded 2 categories up

I booked the So Sofitel Singapore for 2 reasons. I knew that it was right next to a Hawkers market and I wanted to get my hands on some Singaporean cuisine. The Hawkers market is called Lau Sa Pat – quite big – but when I was there were only a few shops open. The second reason was that I hold Platinum Le Accor Club status – so I wanted to see what benefits I could get.…

Loewes OHare Room 6

Date: 25th to 29th September, 2014

Cost: $240 AUD per night

I was searching for a hotel near the O’Hare Airport in Chicago as I had a seminar in the Marriott O’Hare hotel. After researching some hotels in the O’Hare/Rosemont area in Chicago – I finally decide to go with Loewes O’Hare hotel. Why you may ask? Well one of my pet-hates is an old hotel with old furnishings. There were 16 hotels on Tripadvisor in the Rosemont area – with none of the Hilton or Hyatts that were ranked as high as Loewes hotel. The Hilton and Hyatts usually near the hotels in the States are old and below-par. That is usually why they are very cheap – you can get them at $100 per night.…

Hilton Vancouver Exeterior View 2

Checking in was quick and efficient as it was quiet. I arrived at 1:30pm from Vancouver Airport. It took 40 minutes to get to the hotel by taxi. The cost was $36.20 CAD.

The staff at the reception acknowledged my Gold membership and noted I was upgraded straight away which was a nice gesture. The hotel has 18 levels so a rather small hotel with a Hilton name in the Burnaby area in Vancouver…
